According to Philips, the "highly efficient HD motor" (1250W) uses 35% less power to deliver the same suction power of a regular motor. Also, at least 60% of the plastics used in manufacturing are sustainable.
On top of the regular nozzle, it comes with a "Super Parquet" nozzle which uses two disposable cleaning pads - driven mechanically by the suction power, promising to remove "three times more" sticky dirt. Of course it has HEPA AirSeal and HEPA 13 filter.
The phones have a special eco-mode which turns off the radio
transmitter when the phone is in standby mode, thereby not only saving
energy but also reducing exposure to harmful radiation. The phones
have a built-in answering machine, support for internal calls, and
their bluetooth interface can be used to attach a bluetooth headset or
for transferring contact information from other devices. I think it'll
take me quite some time before I have everything figured out. :)
This one will go above my mother's desk. It contains a circular 40W
energy saving bulb. We took the white one, but it's also available in
chrome. Art nr 40235/31/16, if anyone's interested.
I was looking for a ceiling light for my office which wouldn't use much energy, yet still would provide a generous amount of light. This Philips Massive fixture fit the bill perfectly. The - admittedly a bit colossal - fixture holds two 22W CFL bulbs (included in the set), with output equivalent to a 200-220W incandescent bulb. This is great when working on a computer.
I gave these ones to my sister on Saint Nicolas Eve. The set comes with a remote control for controlling iTunes or Windows Media Player on Windows. The speakers themselves work on a Mac too. When I tried them out beforehand, I was so pleased with them that I bought a second pair for myself.
Vaillant Calormatic 392 digital modulating thermostat. Our dear neighbor helped us install it. It should save us some energy relative to our old on/off thermostat too.
My mother could pick up our next LED lightbulb for free at the supermarket. This is a nation-wide promotion for a brand called Pharox, sponsored by a big Dutch lottery. Aside from a slightly different metal enclosure, it looks strikingly similar to the Albert Heijn LED bulb I bought some time ago, so they could very well be technologically equivalent.
It's a Philips Clock Radio AJ3231. It's one of the few acceptable looking alarm clocks that I could find. The radio function is of not much importance to me. The designs somewhat makes me think of an iMac.
A Samsung SGH-M150. Ain't it pretty? I got it for free in return from putting some money into a savings account half a year ago or so. I only now have got the sim-lock removed. Notice the luxurious texture of the surface behind the keys.
